This particular motif has loads of potential – particularly if you want to make several of them, add beads throughout the pattern and join them together to create unique and intriguing Christmas ornaments. I could see this motif being wrapped around a glass harvest bulb and being displayed on a festive autumn tree center-piece for Thanksgiving. It can also be a fun hat pattern by simply continuing the spiral to the size needed, and then adding several rows of single crochet for the rim.
Step 1: Chain 4, slip stitch into 1st chain to make your ring
Step 2: Chain 7, single crochet in ring
Step 3: Chain 6, single crochet in ring (5 times)
Step 4: Slip stitch to 1st chain in round
Step 5: Slip stitch in next 3 stitches
Step 6: Chain 4, single crochet in next chain 6 loop (5 times)
Step 7: Chain 4, single crochet in 1st chain 7 loop
Step 8: Chain 4, single crochet twice in next chain 4 loop, single crochet in next sc
[Repeat Step 8 around – 6 chain 4 loops]
Step 9: Chain 4, single crochet twice in next chain 4 loop
Step 10: Single crochet in next 2 single crochets, skip 3rd sc
[Repeat Steps 9 & 10 around – 6 chain 4 loops]
Step 11: Chain 4, single crochet twice in next chain 4 loop
Step 12: Single crochet in next 3 sc, skip next sc
[Repeat Steps 11 & 12 around – 6 loops]
I hope you enjoy making this spiral hexagon motif and create some fantastically amazing projects with it. Do let me know what you come up with, won’t you?
Until next time then, I wish you every good thing, kind people!
