Simple Spiral Crochet Pattern Tutorial

The simple spiral crochet pattern can be used to make sets of coasters, abstract art and Christmas ornaments. I can picture it on a handmade baby mobile, using funky yarns with lots of colors, ribbons and bobbles in them. Another exciting idea is to use them as window decorations, or to represent seashells in an artistic landscape setting. However you decide to use them, I think you’ll find this pattern very relaxing and easy to follow.

Step 1:  Chain 4, slip stitch into first chain to form a ring
Step 2:  Make 8 single crochet stitches in center of ring

Step 3:  Make 2 half double crochet in back loop only (BLO) in each of the next 5 stitches

Step 4:  Make 2 double crochet in BLO of next 9 stitches

Step 5:  Make 2 triple crochet in BLO of next 7 stitches
Step 6:  Make 1 triple crochet in BLO of next stitch, and 2 tr in BLO of the following stitch (8 times) over the next 16 stitches

Step 7:  Make 1 triple crochet in BLO of next stitch and finish off.

I hope you enjoy making this simple spiral as much as I do.
Until next time, I wish you every joy and lots of success with all of your crochet projects.
