Simple Netting

One of the neat things about simple netting is its versatility. It is just as suitable being a cafĂ© curtain as it is a dazzling fashion accessory used to spruce up waist or neckline. It can be set on top of a linen table cloth, wrapped around candles and vases, incorporated into a seaside escape and even (provided you use very sturdy materials) the body of a fabulous outdoor hammock. It is in fact, one of my favorite crochet stitch patterns, because it’s so easy to make and can be used for an almost limitless amount of projects.

Foundation Row: Make a chain divisible by 4 + 1; chain 5, turn

Step 1: Single crochet in 10th chain from hook

Single Crochet Stitch

a. Insert hook into desired stitch or space

b. Yarn over, draw up a loop

c. Yarn over, draw through both loops on hook

Step 2: Chain 5, skip next 3 chain stitches, single crochet in next chain stitch {Repeat across row}

Step 3: Chain 5, turn

Step 4: Single crochet in chain 5 loop, chain 5 {Repeat across row}

Repeat Steps 3 & 4 for pattern
