The arcade crochet stitch is one that I’ve seen numerous times in various crochet books and resources. It’s one I’ve always wanted to learn and experiment with, to see how I might like to use it in my own projects.

Foundation Row: Use a multiple of 6 chains (+ 1 chain)

A. Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, chain 3

B. Skip 3 chain, single crochet in next chain

C. Make 1 single crochet in last chain, chain 1, turn

Arcade Stitch Pattern

Step 1: Make 5 double crochet in next chain 3 space

Step 2: Skip next single crochet; make 1 single crochet in center chain stitch of chain 3 loop

{Repeat steps 1 & 2 across row}

Step 3: Single crochet in turning chain from previous row; chain 3, turn

Step 4: Skip 1st single crochet and 1st double crochet stitches; single crochet in next 3 double crochet stitches – the center 3 stitches of 1st group of 5 double crochets

Step 5: Chain 3, skip next (dc, sc, dc); single crochet in center 3 double crochet stitches of next group of 5 double crochets.

{Repeat Step 5 across row to end}

Step 6: Chain 2, single crochet in turning chain of previous row; chain 3, turn

Step 7: Make 2 double crochet in chain 2 space

Step 8: Make 1 single crochet in 2nd sc of next 3 single crochet stitches; make 5 dc in next chain 3 loop

{Repeat Step 8 across row, ending with 3 dc in last chain 3 loop}; chain 1, turn

Step 9: Skip 1st dc, single crochet in next dc

Step 10: Chain 3, single crochet in center 3 double crochet stitches of next group of 5 double crochets (same as in Step 5), to last 2 dc’s; make 1 single crochet in top chain of turning chain; chain 1, turn

Repeat Steps 1 – 10 for pattern.
