Now that you know how to chain and single crochet, I thought it might be fun to put these two things together in a little project. Today I’m going to show you how to make dish scrubbers using only the chain and single crochet stitches.

You Will Need

Tulle or netting
Scissors
Size J Crochet hook

Step 1: Cut tulle into a 2 inch wide strip. You will need 4 strips measuring approximately 1 yard each. When joining new strips, overlap 2 inches into the strip you’re working with, folding the new strip inside the current strip to secure.

Step 2: Make a slip knot at one end of tulle.

Step 3: Chain 10

Step 4: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook, and in each remaining chain.

Step 5: Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first stitch and in each stitch across. (9 sc)

Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have a square. Finish off and weave in loose ends.

Finished project measures approximately 3 x 3 inches. You can adjust the size to meet your needs by making a longer foundation chain.
